Upcoming Meetings & Events

The West Central Georgia Shutterbugs will hold their regular monthly meeting at the Thomaston-Upson Arts Council (TUAC) Gallery and Gift Shop (located on the Thomaston square) on Tuesday, November 10th, at 6:30 p.m. Melba Brown and Harolyn Castleberry, co-chairpersons of the photography exhibit Shutterbugs will have at Callaway Gardens, Feb. 27-April 11, 2010, will lead a brief question and answer session concerning the exhibit. Following that, King Davis, Vice-President of the Shutterbugs, will present an overview and demonstration of Adobe Photoshop Lightroom, also referred to (in his words) as “the world’s coolest software.”

As always, visitors are also welcome to attend the meeting and see the dramatic changes this software can make in an image. Everyone attending is urged to help re-stock a local food pantry by bringing a non-perishable food item to the Nov. 10th meeting.

To join Shutterbugs, attend one of the above meetings and pay your dues to Dee Hinson, Treasurer. Dues are $12 per year.

About the West Central Georgia Shutterbugs

The West Central Georgia Shutterbugs met for the first time on January 10, 2006. We meet monthly (generally the second Tuesday evening) for “how to” classes and/or for planning events and outings that will develop our skills. For example, we visit and/or participate in photography exhibits and go on photo shoots to places we might not have gone to otherwise—or even known about. As we work and learn together, we’re building friendships, discovering more opportunities to exhibit and sell our photos, sharing ideas and supplies, encouraging one another, celebrating our successes, and becoming increasingly excited about and skilled in the art of photography. Some of our works have won awards, been exhibited in galleries and businesses, been published, and been displayed in private collections.

We welcome other photographers, regardless of skill level.
